Kenya’s Shujaa and Lionesses closed the 2025 Safari 7s on a high after both sides reclaimed their titles at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday evening with individual also being awarded.
For Shujaa, it was yet another statement of dominance as they completed a four-peat following a hard-fought 14-7 win over Shogun.

Scrum-half Samuel Asati, who once again proved crucial in the big moments, was named Player of the Final.
His quick thinking around the breakdown and game control kept Shujaa steady in a tense contest, helping them stretch their impressive home record.
The Lionesses also reclaimed their title after edging Uganda in a thrilling women’s final. It was Janet Okello who made the difference, showing her trademark pace to score the winning try.

The speedster’s effort earned her the Player of the Final award as the Lionesses celebrated their first Safari 7s crown since missing out in the last two editions.
Elsewhere, UK Select’s Sam Kildunne emerged as the tournament’s top try scorer with nine tries, while Paula Rakeena of Costa Blanca Barbarians and Charlotte Woodman of Shogun each crossed the whitewash seven times.
Woodman and Kildunne also bagged the top points scorer honours after consistent displays throughout the tournament.
