The 2025 Safari 7s men’s category entered its second round on Saturday morning, with defending champions Kenya Shujaa, Kenya Morans, and Zimbabwe maintaining their unbeaten runs at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Kenya Morans kicked off the action with a commanding 28-10 win over Apache, securing their second consecutive victory.
Kenya Morans Secure Back-to-Back Wins at Safari 7s
Captain John Okoth opened the scoring with a converted try before Apache hit back to make it 7-5.
Daniel Kipchichir extended the lead for Morans, but Apache responded just before halftime to cut the gap to 14-10. In the second half, Clinton Amukwachi and Rayvone Ambale scored converted tries to seal a well-earned 28-10 win for the young Kenyan side.
Zimbabwe also made it two wins in a row after battling past ReUnion 26-19, continuing their strong form from oay One, where they had defeated Apache 33-17.
In another Pool clash, Shogun proved too strong for Nyati, handing them their first loss with a 26-12 victory.
KCB Bounce Back Strong Against Uganda at Safari 7s
KCB Rugby, the 2025 National Sevens Circuit champions, bounced back from their opening loss to Shogun with a dominant 43-12 win over Uganda.
Michael Wekesa broke through the line to score the opening try for KCB, with Brian Wahinya adding the extras for a 7-0 lead. Moses Watmon then responded for Uganda with a converted try to level the score at 7-7.
Austin Sikutwa crossed next for KCB, but Wahinya missed the conversion, leaving the score at 12-7. Wekesa added his second try, this time converted by Wahinya, extending the lead to 19-7 at halftime.
After the break, Branton Lusisa scored his second try of the tournament, with Wahinya converting to stretch KCB’s advantage to 26-7. Bramwel Kilwake followed up with another converted try for 33-7.
Uganda pulled one back through Julius Oyuk after a quick tap and go, though the conversion missed for 33-12. Kilwake then sealed the match with a final converted try, confirming a dominant 40-12 victory for KCB.

Elsewhere, French Renegades secured their first win of the tournament, defeating Walukuba Rugby 38-21 in a lively contest.
Shujaa Stay Perfect at the 2025 Safari 7s
Defending champions Kenya Shujaa rounded off the second round with a thrilling 28-19 victory over UK Select.
Patrick Odongo sprinted past the UK Select defence on the left wing to score the opening try for Shujaa, which was converted for a 7-0 lead. Nygel Amaitsa added the second try, with the conversion sailing through to give Shujaa a 14-0 advantage at halftime.
After the restart, UK Select hit back with a try on the right wing after their runner outpaced Wekesa and Amaitsa, though the conversion went wide to make it 14-5.
Sam Kilburne then crossed over for UK Select, and the conversion reduced the deficit to 14-12.
KCB’s Floyd Wabwire, who came on for Patrick Odongo, made an instant impact scoring two successive tries on both wings, both converted, to stretch Shujaa’s lead to 28-12.
In the dying moments, Ben Charnock scored a consolation try for UK Select, which was converted, sealing a 28-19 full-time win for Shujaa.
