Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes 7s have named a strong and experienced 12-player squad for the 2025 Safari 7s set for October 10–12 at Nyayo National Stadium with Agnes Nakuya taking on the captaincy in the absence of the inspirational Peace Lekuru.
The squad boasts a blend of experience and exciting young talent, led by veterans Nakuya and Lydia Namabiro, alongside emerging stars who impressed in the just-concluded Uganda National 7s Series.
Yvonne Najjuma returns to the senior setup after featuring for the Emerging Lady Cranes at last year’s Safari 7s, while her Thunderbird teammate Comfort Anganyika, who topped the scoring charts in the National 7s, earns a deserved call-up.
The Thunderbirds are well represented, with Sandra Lona Amoli and Janat Nandudu also making the cut.
Grace Nabaggala, whose performances stirred debate during the local series, joins the team for her versatility, able to feature both in the pack and out wide.
