Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) have been crowned champions of the 2025 Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) Rugby 7s Championship after edging out Zimbabwe’s Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) 17-14 in a thrilling final played at KCB Sports Club.
Karl Omitto starred in the final with two tries, while Clyde Nyayoto added another. Davis Masinga slotted in one conversion as the varsity side rose to become the new kings of African university rugby in the shorter version of the game.
To reach the final, JKUAT defeated Maseno University 33-7 in the quarterfinals before seeing off the University of Eldoret 17-0 in the semifinals.

JKUAT completed the tournament unbeaten, winning five matches and registering one draw, which came in their opening match against Kenyatta University.
They take over the title last won by Daystar University in the 2023 edition, when Daystar defeated Kenyatta University 26-5 in the final played at Makerere University in October 2023.
As FASU champions, JKUAT are now expected to represent the region at the upcoming FISU Games scheduled to take place in South Africa.
