Menengai Oilers to play Uganda Premiership side in Rift Valley Challenge Cup

Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup finalists Menengai Oilers are set to face Ugandan side Black Pirates in the Rift Valley Challenge Cup.

The match, which is part of the two teams’ 15s preseason build-up, will take place at Kings Park Arena in Uganda on Saturday, October 4, 2025, as confirmed by the host club, Pirates.

“The Rift Valley Challenge is on! Menengai Oilers will be at the Arena this weekend. Action-packed rugby display. Ugali and soup menu. Let’s welcome the ndugus. COME ON YOU PIRATES,” the club announced.

The Oilers, who have been on the rise in the 15s game, will be keen to pick up from where they left off in April.

They knocked out KCB in the semi-finals before narrowly falling 27-26 to Kabras in the Kenya Cup final at The Forest.

Later, they lost 33-12 at the ASK Showground to Kabras, who went on to lift the 2025 Enterprise Cup for the fifth time in a row.
