As the series winds up, Buffaloes, second in the standings on 107 points, face a simple yet steep equation.
They must win the Cup final while hoping leaders Walukuba Barbarians, who top the table with 116 points, fail to reach the semifinals to stand a chance of snatching the title.
Heathens on 95 points and Black Pirates on 90 also remain in contention, setting up a dramatic finale at Kyadondo.
On the women’s side, the Thunderbirds are in the driving seat and only need to feature in Kyadondo to be crowned series champions.
They headline Pool A, which also includes Black Pearls, Avengers and Ewes.
Pool B features Nile Rapids, Walukuba Titans, She Wolves and Panthers, promising equally competitive matchups.
