The 2025 Dala 7s will conclude with a heavyweight clash in Kisumu after defending champions Kabras RFC and KCB RFC stormed into the Cup final on Sunday, September 14, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Mamboleo.

In the opening semifinal, Kabras edged rivals Menengai Oilers 14-10 in a tense Rai Derby.

William Mwanji crossed first for Kabras before Patrick Odhiambo added another, both converted by Rayvone Ambale for a 14-0 lead.

Oilers fought back to narrow the gap, but the sugarmen held firm to reach their first Dala 7s final since last year’s title-winning run.

The second semifinal saw KCB come from behind to beat Daystar Falcons 19-5.

Daystar struck first through Clinton Amukwachi’s unconverted try, but the bankers turned on the style with tries from Stephen Osumba, Floyd Wabwire, and George Ooro.

Conversions from Osumba and Brian Wahinya sealed the victory, booking KCB’s spot in the final against their perennial rivals.

In the fifth place playoffs, Nakuru RFC handed Strathmore Leos their second loss of the day with a 12-7 win, courtesy of tries from Joel Mboya and Fidel Wekesa.

Mwamba RFC also advanced after edging Nondescripts 21-19 in a thriller.

Mwamba’s tries came from Eugene Ojiambo, Stephen Juma, and Brian Mutugi, while Nondies’ Ronnie Omondi bagged a brace alongside Victor Rogena, but a missed conversion proved costly.

The Challenge Trophy semifinals saw Catholic Monks demolish Embu RFC 41-0, while Impala RFC edged Kenya Harlequin 12-10 to set up a Monks vs Impala final.

In the 13th place playoffs, MMUST RFC beat Homeboyz 28-10, while hosts Kisumu RFC thrilled the home crowd with a 19-14 victory over Mombasa RFC.

The finals are now set with Kabras RFC meeting KCB RFC in the Cup final Daystar Falcons facing Menengai Oilers in the bronze match Mwamba RFC playing Nakuru RFC for fifth place Catholic Monks taking on Impala RFC in the Challenge Trophy final and Kisumu RFC taking on MMUST RFC in the 13th place decider.
