The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has announced the suspension of Dennis Mwanja, the head coach of the Kenya Women’s 7s team, for a period of two weeks.

The decision follows a preliminary report submitted to the Union by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports – State Department for Sports, Office of the Gender Protection and Implementation Secretariat. The report raised concerns over a safeguarding incident involving Mwanja.

According to the State Department’s investigating officers, the suspension is necessary to allow investigations to be conducted fairly and transparently, while respecting the rights of both Mwanja and the alleged victim.
