The Black Pirates are the Rujumba 7s Champions after edging Walukuba Barbarians 12-10 in the final played on Sunday at King’s Park, Bweyogerere.
The victory saw the Pirates successfully defend their crown, having won the 2024 edition by defeating Heathens 17-12 in a dramatic sudden-death final after a 12-12 stalemate in regulation time.
In this year’s decider, both sides scored two tries each, but Pirates’ successful conversion created the crucial two-point gap that sealed their triumph over Walukuba.

To reach the final, Pirates overcame Heathens 22-17 in the quarterfinals before dispatching Jinja Hippos 24-10 in the semifinals.
Walukuba, on their part, edged Rams 15-10 and later saw off Buffaloes 15-10 to book their place in the final.
