Kenya internationals Kevin Wekesa and Patrick Odongo featured prominently as Monaco Rugby Sevens claimed back-to-back titles in the In Extenso Supersevens, lifting the Dax leg on Saturday.
Fresh from their Mont-de-Marsan triumph that guaranteed a spot in the Paris Grand Final, Monaco underlined their dominance with another flawless run.
Wekesa and Odongo were joined by Etcheverry, Teba, Lacamp, Ardao, Mazzoleni (captain), Lalli, Isherwood, Manteca, Demai-Hamecher, Sokoyi, Thooris, Jaars, Moreno in the squad.
Their biggest test came in the Round of 16. Trailing 28–0 against Bordeaux-Bègles, Monaco staged a remarkable comeback to edge the match 33–28.
That escape seemed to ignite their charge, they thrashed Racing 92 31–5 in the quarterfinals before outmuscling Toulon 31–7 in the semis.
