Defending champions Kabras RFC, hosts Kenya Harlequin, Menengai Oilers, and KCB Rugby all registered victories in the opening round of the Christie 7s at the RFUEA Grounds.
Kenya Harlequin kicked off their campaign in style with a 29-17 win over Mombasa RFC. Leon Nyang marked his return with a brace, while Albert Alela and Charles Kinyanjui also touched down for Quins.
For Mombasa, Newton Malenya scored twice, and Amayo Collins added another in a losing effort.
Strathmore Leos, fresh from their Prinsloo 7s triumph, suffered a shock 19-17 defeat to Zetech Oaks.
Despite Victor Mola’s brace and a try from Gabriel Ayimba, Zetech’s Fidel Chimwani (2), Anderson Oduor, and Brian Ondego’s conversions secured the upset win.
Christie 7s Pool B
Javan Otieno’s brace, supported by tries from Chrisant Ojwang and Cyprian Ombaso, powered Nakuru RFC to a 22-8 victory over MMUST.
Catholic Monks carried their strong form into the Christie 7s with a commanding 33-5 win over Impala RFC.

Hassan Wambani was the star of the show with a hat-trick, while Dennis Mulinge and Victor Omupere also crossed the whitewash.
Pool C
Defending champions Kabras RFC cruised past Truga Select with a 34-5 victory. Kenya internationals shone for the Sugarmen as Jackson Siketi opened the scoring, Griffin Chao announced his return with back-to-back tries, while Jone Kubu, Derrick Ashihundu and Brian Tanga added a try each. Yassin Waswa managed a consolation for Ruga Ruga.
Menengai Oilers joined Kabras on three points after a narrow 15-12 win over Daystar Falcons. Samuel Ovwamu’s efforts proved decisive in sealing the win for Oilers.
Pool D
Mwamba RFC were held to a 17-17 draw against Blak Blad. Eliakim Kichoi, Steven Sikuta, and Joseph Odoyo scored for Mwamba, while Blad responded through Ian Obukwa, George Ambale, and Oyoo Otieno.
KCB Rugby extended their dominance over Nondies with a convincing 35-12 win. George Ooro bagged a brace, while Floyd Wabwire, Bob Muhati, Elvis Olukusi, and Stephen Osumba also touched down to round off the victory.
