The National Sevens Circuit resumes with third-round action at Nairobi’s RFUEA Grounds on 16th and 17th August 2025 when the Christie 7s takes centre stage.
The tournament is named in honour of Alex ‘Sandy’ Milne Christie, a former Kenya Harlequins president, accomplished player, and respected referee who officiated matches in Dar es Salaam, Kampala, and Mombasa.
Christie also served as RFUEA president and vice-president of Wasps RFC in England, leaving a lasting impact on the sport in the region.
As the 2025 edition draws near, Scrummage Africa looks at the past champions since 1964.
The earliest recorded winners were Kenya Police and Eldoret RFC, who shared the title in 1964.
The years that followed saw dominance from clubs like Impala, Nondescripts, and Mean Machine, who regularly lifted the trophy during the 1970s and 80s.
