The 2025 Federation of East African Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSA) Boys Rugby 7s will run from 12th to 23rd August 2025 at the Bull Ring Grounds in Kakamega County.
The tournament will be played in a round-robin format before heading into the knockout stages.
FEASSSA Rugby 7s Defending Champions
Defending champions are Vihiga High School after making history in 2024 by winning their first-ever FEASSSA 7s title with a commanding 26-0 victory over Bwake Boys in Mbale, Uganda.
Kenya will be represented by Saint Peters Mumias, Koyonzo Boys High, Bungoma High and Bwake Boys, while Uganda’s challenge will come from Saint Mary’s Kisubi, Mbarara High School, Makerere College and London College.
As the 2025 edition kicks off, Scrummage Africa looks back at the list of champions since 2015.
The 2015 tournament in Huye, Rwanda, saw Ste. Famille defeat Kenya’s Kangaru School in the final.
In 2016, St. Peter’s Mumias lifted the title in Eldoret after overcoming Uganda’s Kololo S.S. Muhuri Muchiri were crowned champions in 2017 in Gulu, Uganda, beating Jinja SS.

Laiser Hill won the 2018 edition in Musanze, Rwanda, with victory over Chavakali, before Upper Hill secured the 2019 crown in Arusha, Tanzania, against Laiser Hill.
After the COVID-19 break, the 2022 edition in Arusha produced Uganda’s Hanna Mixed School as surprise winners over Kenya’s Koyonzo.
Koyonzo Boys reclaimed the trophy for Kenya in 2023, defeating Vihiga in the final.
In 2024, Vihiga turned the tables, overcoming Bwake Boys to finally lift the crown.
Kenya has dominated the winners’ list over the past decade, with Rwanda and Uganda managing just two titles in 2022 and 2015.
