Driftwood 7s: KCB, Kabras, Quins maintain 100% record as Nakuru join quarters

KCB Rugby, Kenya Harlequin, and Kabras RFC finished day one of the 2025 Driftwood 7s on top of their respective pools after winning all their matches, while Nakuru RFC booked their place in the Cup quarterfinals after a crucial final round win at the Mombasa Sports Club, in the first leg of the2025 National 7s Circuit.

In Pool A, defending champions Kenya Harlequin sealed top spot with a commanding 45-0 win over MMUST RFC, ending MMUST’s unbeaten run and forcing them to settle for second place.

KU Blak Blad claimed third place in the pool after a narrow 14-12 victory over Mwamba RFC, who finished bottom after losing all their matches.

In Pool B, Impala RFC finished last following a 12-7 loss to Nakuru RFC, who bounced back strongly to clinch a quarterfinal spot.

Kabras Sugar RFC topped the group after a dominant 29-0 win over Catholic Monks, with both Kabras and Nakuru advancing to the Cup quarters.

Pool C saw KCB Rugby continue their impressive form, crushing Nondescripts RFC 40-0 to top the group.

Daystar Falcons earned their first win of the tournament with a 26-7 result against hosts MSC Rugby.

In Pool D, Kabarak University finished at the bottom after a 26-0 loss to Stallions Rugby. The final pool decider saw Strathmore Leos edge Menengai Oilers 14-5 to secure top spot and a place in the quarterfinals, while Oilers advanced as runners-up.
