The latest World Rugby Rankings have seen the Kenya Simbas slip two places, from 33rd to 35th, following their 15-5 loss to Algeria in the Rugby Africa Cup third-place playoff on Saturday.
The Simbas now have 50.09 ranking points and have been overtaken by Czechia and Germany.
Zimbabwe Sables rise
In the continental pecking order, Zimbabwe Sables have emerged as Africa’s top-ranked team after South Africa.

The Sables edged Namibia in a dramatic Rugby Africa Men’s Cup final at Mandela National Stadium in Uganda to claim the continental crown and secure a spot at the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup in Australia.

Zimbabwe, returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1991, climbed two places to 24th in the global standings, leapfrogging Canada and Namibia. Namibia, following their defeat, dropped two spots to 27th.
Algeria after Kenya Simbas win
Algeria, buoyed by their second consecutive victory over the Kenya Simbas in two years, made the biggest leap of the week, surging 10 places up to 43rd.
Senegal also saw a significant rise, moving six places up to 45th, while Morocco dropped three places to 40th. Uganda, after finishing seventh in the Rugby Africa Cup, have slipped to 50th in the rankings..
