St Peter’s Mumias are the new Western Region rugby 7s champions after defeating Bungoma High School 19-10 in the final played in Mumias on Saturday.
The Saints sealed the title with three tries, converting two of them, while Bungoma managed two unconverted tries in the closely contested encounter.

The victory sees St Peter’s reclaim the regional crown that had been dominated by Koyonzo High School in the three editions held post-COVID.
St Peter’s will be joined at the National School Games by Bungoma High School, Koyonzo, and Musingu, who all secured top-four finishes.

Koyonzo claimed the final national qualification spot after edging Musingu 17-7 in the third-place playoff.
In the girls’ category, Mwira Girls were crowned champions following a commanding 22-0 win over Eregi Girls in the final. Madira Girls finished third.
