Bwake Boys and St Joseph’s girls Kitale (JOGA ) showcased their dominance in Rift Valley school rugby by successfully defending their sevens titles at the 2025 Rift Valley Rugby Sevens.
Bwake Boys retained the regional title they won in 2024, starting their campaign with a commanding 35-0 victory over Kapsabet Boys. They followed this up with a decisive 42-5 win against Baringo High. In the quarterfinals, they edged past Jomo Kenyatta with a narrow 10-5 victory and then blanked Poroko Friends 17-0 in the semifinals.
The final against the formidable Laiser Hill Academy was a thrilling encounter, but Bwake held on for a hard-fought 19-17 victory, reclaiming their crown. St. Patrick’s Iten finished third after narrowly defeating Poroko Friends 14-12 in the playoff.
Bwake Boys and Laiser Hill Academy are now set to advance to the National Games.

On the girls’ side, reigning Rift Valley and 2024 KSSSA National Girls Rugby 7s champions St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale (JOGA) once again proved their prowess by adding the 2025 Rift Valley title to their impressive list of achievements.
The inaugural Scrummage Katch 7s winners, JOGA cruised through the pool stages with a 63-0 win over Olkokwe and dominated Nasokol in the semifinals with a 31-0 victory. In the final, they showcased their prowess by defeating a spirited Itigo side 26-7, securing both the title and a spot at the nationals.
2025 Scrummage Katch 7s champions Santa Maria Secondary School also had a commendable performance. The Elgeyo Marakwet-based team, began with an impressive 52-0 win over Chepsaita and a tough 5-5 draw against Poroko in the group stage. They were later awarded a walkover victory in the third-place playoff after Nasokol failed to show up.
