Wekesa powered through a defender to return to the scoresheet and was joined by Terio Tamani and Bhupinder Singh, who also crossed the whitewash in a dominant display.

The Rugby Premier League (RPL) features a unique, fast-paced format. Each match lasts 22 minutes, split into four-minute quarters with two-minute intervals, offering a more intense and explosive experience compared to the traditional World Rugby Sevens format.
The tournament follows a double round-robin structure with 30 pool matches. Each team plays 10 matches before advancing to the playoffs, which include two semi-finals, a bronze medal match, and a final, making a total of 34 matches across the competition. Teams can play up to 12 matches during the 15-day tournament.
India’s first professional Rugby 7s league, the RPL aims to provide high-octane action while serving as a launchpad for both rising and elite talent. It is designed to elevate rugby’s visibility in India, inspire the next generation of players, and offer fans an electrifying, festival-style experience.
