Speaking during the event, Kisumu RFC Chairman Dr. Gabriel Ouma expressed optimism about the new partnerships.

“Today is a great day for Kisumu RFC and the entire rugby fraternity. A win for a community club is a win for all. We’ve secured key sponsorships, with Homeland Itoya Events, one of the biggest events brands in the country, as our main sponsor. This support will help us honour our fixtures, build strong structures, and develop a competitive team. Our goal is to make the playoffs and, hopefully, bring the trophy home.”

Ouma further acknowledged the club’s second sponsor, saying: “Orare and Olendo Advocates have come on board with Ksh 1 million in support. They are not new to this club, they’ve been with us before. I’m glad we’ve now formalized the partnership and developed a working model.”

On the media partnership, he added: “Urban Radio will help us reach the masses and rally community support around the club.”

This sponsorship announcement comes less than two months after the club’s new leadership team assumed office.

Dr. Ouma was elected chairman after previously serving as vice chairman. Benson Maina was elected as vice chairman, Dr. Paul Ogolla is the new treasurer, Annie Wanjiru is the organizing secretary, and Robert Wechesi, an information security professional, takes up the role of honorary secretary.
