Kenya Morans continued their fine form at the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens with a convincing 33-0 win over Ghana in their second Pool A match at the Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mauritius.
The Morans wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Just two minutes into the game, George Ooro powered over the line for the opening try, which was calmly converted by youngster Jackson Siketi.
Two minutes later, William Mwanji crossed the whitewash, and despite being in a tight position, Jackson Siketi slotted in the extras to make it 14-0.
The in-form Floyd Wabwire then lit up the left flank with his fourth try of the day, accelerating down the wing after a scrum to leave Ghana’s defence in his wake. The conversion made it 21-0.
Moments before halftime, Lameck Ambetsa nearly added to the tally with a strong run on the right, but a handling error saw the ball slip through his hands, denying Kenya a fourth try in the opening half.
Kenya Morans went to the break leading 21-0.

After the break, Ooro returned to the scoresheet with his second try of the match, though the conversion went wide. Soon after, captain Cristant Ojwang made his mark with a try of his own, and Philip Okeyo added the extras to extend the lead to 33-0.
Ghana showed signs of a comeback midway through the second half, stringing together promising passes and building pressure near Kenya’s 22-meter line. However, the Morans stood firm, regaining control and shutting down any potential breakthrough.
In the final moments, Javan Omondi attempted to slice through the Ghanaian defence, but the referee’s whistle for full-time confirmed Kenya’s second straight win of the day.
The Morans now head into their final Pool A clash against Uganda at 3:18 PM brimming with confidence, having scored 71 points and conceded none in their opening two games.
