Defending champions Kakamega School began their 2025 Kakamega County 7s campaign in emphatic fashion, collecting six points and scoring 120 points across their opening matches.
The Barbarians were ruthless in their opener, putting 60 points past Mautuma while keeping a clean sheet.

They followed it up with an identical 60-0 victory over Kholera, a result that saw them top their pool at the end of day one.
Koyonzo High School also showed their intent, thrashing Silungai 59-5 before brushing aside Soysambu 46-5 to finish top of Pool C with six points.

Musingu and tournament hosts St Peter’s Mumias secured maximum points as well, finishing top of Pools D and B respectively with big wins
Mukumu Boys recorded the biggest win of the day, posting 66 points to go top of Pool E. Pools E and F had only one match played on the opening day.
