The stage is set for a blockbuster showdown in the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific Grand Final, as the Crusaders host the Chiefs at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch on Saturday, 21 June.
The Crusaders, who have claimed a record 12 Super Rugby titles and two Super Rugby Aotearoa crowns, are chasing another chapter of home-ground dominance, having never lost a Grand Final played in Christchurch. They’ll be eyeing a third straight Super Rugby Pacific title after stunning the Chiefs 25-20 in the 2023 decider.
This year’s campaign marks a remarkable turnaround for the Crusaders, who finished ninth in the 2024 season. Their resurgence has seen them return to the top of Southern Hemisphere rugby, with one more win standing between them and further silverware.

For the Chiefs, it’s a chance to finally end a decade-long title drought. After finishing first in the regular season, the Hamilton-based side stumbled in the Qualifying Final against the Blues but bounced back with a crucial victory over the ACT Brumbies to book their spot in a fifth Grand Final.
Having lost the previous two Super Rugby Pacific finals, the Chiefs will be determined to reverse their fortunes and lift their first title since going back-to-back in 2012 and 2013.
