Namibia Welwitschias edged Uganda 22-19 in a tightly contested international friendly match played on Saturday at Walvis Bay Private High School.
The first half ended with the hosts leading 12-3. Namibia opened the scoring through vice-captain Danco Burger, who touched down after collecting an inside pass from Jurgen Meyer following a break down the right wing.

Uganda responded with a penalty from Yassin Waswa to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Late in the first half, Burger bagged his second try, barging over under the posts after being set up by scrum-half Jacques Theron off a ruck. Godwin Silvanis added the extras to give Namibia a 12-3 lead at the break, in a half that also saw Uganda miss two penalty attempts.
Uganda came out stronger in the second half, with Waswa slotting a penalty just three minutes after the restart. Brian Wandera then crossed over in the 49th minute for their first try, which was converted by substitute Liam Walker to give the visitors a 13-12 lead.

Walker extended Uganda’s advantage with a penalty before the hour mark, pushing the score to 16-12.
Namibia responded in the 66th minute, powering over from a rolling maul for a converted try and a 19-16 lead.
Walker levelled the scores at 19-19 with a penalty late in the game, but Namibia were awarded a crucial penalty in the 79th minute. Their kicker calmly slotted it over from long range to seal a 22-19 win for the home side.
