Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes head coach Charles Onen has named his final 28-player squad for the 2025 Women’s Rugby Africa Cup scheduled to be held at Stade Makis Andohatapenaka from June 7 to 15 in Madagascar.
The team, captained by Angella Nanyonjo, is set to depart for Antananarivo, Madagascar, on Wednesday.
Four players Jeniffer Musanabera, Hellen Acanit, Latifa Tiko, and Mercy Atek are set to make their full senior national team debuts with notably absent from the squad is national 7s captain Peace Lekuru, who has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.

Other players missing from the Division One tournament all sidelined by injuries include Fazira Namukwaya, Beth Asaba, Leona Acen, and Grace Auma.
Uganda will face South Africa, Madagascar, and Kenya in the competition where they will kick off their campaign on June 7, 2025, with a Southern vs Eastern Africa clash when they face South Africa at 13:00 GMT.
Despite entering the tournament as the lowest-ranked team, Uganda will have some breathing room, as there is no threat of relegation back to the lower division.
