Strathmore Leos completed a flawless run through Pool C at day one of the inaugural Kampala 7s, defeating fellow Kenyan side Nondescripts 24–14 in a thrilling top-of-the-table round 3 clash at Kings Park Arena.
The win ensured the Leos finished the group stage unbeaten with three wins from three, stamping their authority in the competition heading into the knockout rounds.
Nondies, who had also won their first two matches, were handed their first defeat but still progressed after impressive wins over Buffaloes and Mongers earlier in the day.
Elsewhere, South Africa All Stars capped off their dominant Pool B campaign with a hard-fought 12–05 victory over the Emerging Cranes. The win cemented their place at the top of the group with a perfect record.

KOBs on their side finally found form in their third match, edging out Heathens 12–05 and finishing their pool campaign with one win and two losses. Heathens leave the group stage without a single victory, managing only a draw in Round 2.
In Pool A, Shogun Rugby extended their unbeaten streak with a commanding 48–10 demolition of Warriors. The invitational side topped the pool with three straight wins, while Rams finished second after edging hosts Black Pirates 21–15. The Pirates also leave the group stage without a single win.
