During the meeting, a fresh motion to oust him was tabled.  In his address to club chairmen, Mutai expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve, highlighting the progress made during his tenure over the past two years.

“I can read the room. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity. I offered my best. I’m not a good politician—that’s definitely one of my flaws. To cajole is not for me. I’m not a dictator, but I have strong convictions. If I believe in something, I pursue it. I believe we’ve had success in the last two years. After we were relegated, we bounced back, secured sponsorships, and the Simbas are currently in South Africa preparing for the July qualifiers,” he said.
