Shamiah and Ambaka join forces as Kenya Harlequin reveal 12-member technical bench for 2025/26

Kenya Harlequin Football Club have unveiled their technical bench for the 2025/26 season, set to work under head coach Patrice Agunda.

Simon Odongo has been appointed as Deputy Head Coach and will also double up as the Head of Sevens and 15s Defence.

Former KCB Rugby strength and conditioning coach Michael Shamiah joins the club in the same capacity, while former Kenya 7s star Willy Ambaka comes on board as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Veteran fly-half Eden Agero takes up the role of Assistant Coach in charge of Skills and Attack, while Brian Oyiengo joins as an Assistant Coach responsible for development squads and women’s rugby.

Kenyan international Sheila Chajira has been named the Women’s Team Coach. The physiotherapy department will be led by Gerald Omondi as Head of Department, working alongside Kate Muisyo and Kennedy Barua.

Wayne Mungei assumes the role of General Team Manager, with Christeve Wangila appointed as the Women’s Team Manager.

The 12-member technical bench features eight returnees from the previous management team. Notably, nine of the members boast experience with senior international teams, and all twelve have held Kenya Cup coaching or management roles.

“This team brings an exciting blend of traditional Quins values, top-level rugby experience, and innovative, ground-breaking coaching ideas. The new team has already taken over, and we are ready to support them and see what they can achieve,” said Joel Nganga, Director of Rugby at Kenya Harlequin.
