Match officials for the Kenya Simbas’ upcoming clash against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been confirmed ahead of the international build-up fixture set for Saturday, May 24, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

Duncan Kioko will serve as the centre referee, assisted by Kevin Wambugu and Constant Cap.
The match offers both teams a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their systems ahead of their respective international competitions. The UAE will use the fixture to prepare for the upcoming Asian Rugby Championship, while Kenya Simbas continue their buildup to key qualifiers in July.

The Kenya Simbas recently concluded a training camp in Kakamega. Head of the Fifteens Program, Jerome Paarwater, will name his final squad of 33 players after the UAE encounter. This group will regroup for a short pre-departure camp on May 26 before departing for South Africa on May 28.

The South African tour, structured in two phases, will run from May 28 to June 27. The first phase will be based in Cape Town, in collaboration with Western Province, and includes Saturday matches against Currie Cup sides and midweek contact sessions with local clubs and university teams. The second phase, from June 22 to June 27 in Nylstroom, will involve matches against the Blue Bulls’ Currie Cup squads.

The team will return to Kenya on June 27 and hold a final pre-departure camp from July 1 to 2 before heading to Uganda on July 3 for the Rugby Africa Cup qualifiers. The qualifiers will feature top African sides, including Zimbabwe, Algeria, Senegal, Uganda, Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, and Namibia.
Saturday’s fixture is expected to play a key role in shaping the Kenya Simbas’ squad and readiness ahead of the South African Camp and qualifiers.
