Embu RFC have earned the right to host the KRU National 7s Circuit bidding leg for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, marking a significant milestone for the club.
The leg, last hosted by Kabras RFC in Kakamega, will now shift to Embu following a successful bid. The event, branded as Embu 7s, will serve as the fourth leg of the circuit and is scheduled for 23-24 August this year.
“We are pleased to announce that Embu Sevens will be hosting the KRU National Sevens Circuit bidding leg for 2025 and 2026. We kick off this year on the 23rd and 24th of August as the fourth leg on the circuit,” KRU stated.
The 2025 National 7s Circuit will begin with the Driftwood 7s at Mombasa Sports Club on 26-27 July, hosted by Mombasa RFC.

On the following weekend, teams will travel to Nakuru for the Prinsloo 7s, hosted by Nakuru RFC at Nakuru Athletics Club on 2-3 August.
After a short break, action will resume with the Christie 7s at RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on 16-17 August.
The spotlight will then shift to Embu on 23-24 August for the bidding leg.
The final two rounds of the series will be staged in September. Kabeberi 7s will take place on 6-7 September in Nairobi, hosted by Mwamba RFC, while the curtain will fall with the Dala 7s in Kisumu on 13-14 September, hosted by Kisumu RFC.
