The 2024/25 Kenya Cup season came to a thrilling end on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with Kabras RFC being crowned champions for the fifth time following a hard-fought 27-26 victory over the Menengai Oilers in the final.
Kabras backrower Patrick Sabatia Lumumba capped off a brilliant season by scooping the Player of the Final award. Sabatia was instrumental in securing aerial balls and providing vital go-forward momentum throughout the tightly contested clash.
Patrick Sabatia’s stellar campaign
Sabatia’s standout campaign included nine tries, one of which came in the semifinals. He finished as Kabras’ second-highest try scorer this season.
Griffin Chao, Kabras’ electric winger, was named the Top Try Scorer of the season. After breaking into the first team, Chao became a key figure in the backline, scoring 15 tries during the regular season. He added one more in the knockout phase.

Menengai Oilers and Kenya international Timothy Omela was awarded the Top Points Scorer trophy for his consistent kicking and overall contribution throughout the season.
