Tusker backs Kenya Cup with Ksh10 Million sponsorship ahead semis, final

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its flagship brand Tusker, has reaffirmed its deep-rooted support for Kenyan rugby by committing Ksh 10 million towards the 2025 Kenya Cup.

This sponsorship will specifically support the most decisive stages of the competition—the Top Six Play-offs, Semi-Finals, and Finals—highlighting Tusker’s ongoing commitment to the sport’s growth.

Speaking during the sponsorship announcement, Tusker Marketing Manager Christine Kariuki emphasized the brand’s long-standing relationship with rugby and its dedication to fostering the sport’s development.

“For years, Tusker has stood alongside Kenyan rugby, ensuring that players, teams, and fans continue to grow with the game. We are thrilled to be part of this year’s Kenya Cup, backing the most defining moments of the season, where teams battle for glory and fans rally behind their clubs. Our Ksh 10 million sponsorship will ensure a well-executed competition, providing the best possible platform for players while enhancing the experience for fans both on and off the pitch,” she said.

With the stakes higher than ever, the 2024/2025 Kenya Cup semifinals will take place on Saturday, March 29, as the league’s top four teams clash for a place in the grand final.

Defending champions Kabras RFC will host Nondescripts RFC at the ASK Kakamega Showground, while KCB Rugby will face Menengai Oilers at the Ruaraka Grounds in Nairobi.

Nondescripts RFC secured their semifinal spot with a commanding 38-22 victory over Kenya Harlequins in the Ngong Road Derby, while Menengai Oilers booked their place with a 38-18 win over KU Blak Blad in Nakuru.

With everything on the line, both matches promise thrilling action as the winners advance to the grand finale on April 12, 2025, where the next Kenya Cup champion will be crowned.
