Kenya 7s have secured a KSh 2,612,500 sponsorship from Crown Paints ahead of the final legs of the World 7s Series.
The sponsorship deal was announced on Thursday at the RFUEA Grounds, with representatives from the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) and Crown Paints PLC in attendance.

Of the total amount, KSh 1,625,000 will directly support the Kenya 7s program for the last three legs of the HSBC SVNS Series, while KSh 1,000,000 in-kind support will go towards KRU’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
“This morning, Crown Paints PLC unveiled a sponsorship for KRU worth KSh 2,625,000. KSh 1,625,000 will go directly to the Kenya Sevens program for the last three legs of the HSBC SVNS Series, while KSh 1,000,000 will support KRU’s CSR initiatives,” KRU announced.

Speaking at the launch, KRU Director of Rugby Paul Odera emphasized the holistic impact of sponsorships.
“Sponsorships are not solely about financial contributions. They support various aspects of the game, including psychological and nutritional needs. The rugby ecosystem has many facets, and we are grateful for partnerships that contribute to creating a positive environment for our players,” Odera stated.

KRU Chairman Sasha Mutai highlighted the longstanding relationship between Crown Paints and Kenyan rugby.
“This is not the first time Crown Paints has supported rugby in Kenya. It’s a partnership with a long history, and we are truly grateful. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to expanding this collaboration,” Mutai said.
Crown Paints Group Chief Operations Officer Richard Muturi expressed the company’s excitement about the sponsorship.
“We are proud to be part of the rugby landscape, especially at a time when the sport is experiencing significant growth. A lot of resources are dedicated to its development, and through this sponsorship, we are also pleased to contribute to the community,” Muturi remarked.
