The battle for promotion to the Kenya Cup intensifies as the KRU Championship playoffs take centre stage this weekend.
Zetech Oaks, who finished fourth with 34 points, will lock horns with JKUAT Cougars, who secured fifth place with 33 points, in a high-stakes encounter at Zetech University’s Mang’u Campus.
Meanwhile, Catholic Monks, who finished third with 46 points, will welcome Homeboyz RFC (33 points) to Catholic University, Karen.
Monks have been dominant throughout the season, winning 10 of their 11 matches, but Homeboyz will be eager to cause an upset and keep their promotion hopes alive.

At the top of the standings, MMUST emerged as the league leaders with 48 points, followed closely by Daystar Falcons with 47 points.
Both teams have already secured home semifinal spots and will await the winners of the playoff clashes.
The winners of these two encounters will advance to the semifinals, inching closer to a coveted spot in next season’s Kenya Cup.
