2025 Africa Men’s 7s host, dates confirmed

The 2025 Africa Men’s 7s Cup is officially scheduled to take place in Mauritius on June 21-22, 2025 with the prestigious rugby tournament bringing together top teams from across the continent, all vying for the coveted title.

Officials from the Mauritius Rugby Union have been actively preparing for the event. A statement shared on Mauritius’ social media pages confirmed:

“To ensure the success of this prestigious event, President Kevin Venkiah and General Manager Pravin Roodur met with the Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Deven Nagalingum, and his senior advisor. The Minister pledged his and the Ministry’s strong support for the tournament.”

The 2024 Africa Men’s Sevens, the 14th edition of the tournament, was also hosted in Mauritius at the Labourdonnais Sports Grounds. This competition took place over two weekends, from June 29-30 and July 6-7, 2024.

Twelve teams participated, with Uganda emerging victorious after a series-based ranking system determined the overall winner.

Mauritius Rugby will once again host the Africa Men’s 7s in 2025, with Uganda entering as the defending champions.
