Kenyan international rugby player and coach Mercy Migongo has earned her World Rugby Level 2 Coaching (15s) accreditation.
Migongo has been a vital figure in Kenyan rugby, balancing her professional playing career with grassroots development. She runs a rugby program in Kibera that focuses on integrating young girls into the sport while equipping them with essential life skills.

Starting her rugby journey in 2012 at JM Kariuki Memorial, Migongo quickly became a key player for the Kenya Lionesses, making her international debut at the 2019 Elgon Cup and contributing to Kenya’s qualification for the World Rugby WXV Tier 3.
Her coaching journey has been fueled by a commitment to community development and empowering female coaches within her program and she also encourages young women to challenge societal misconceptions about rugby, promoting inclusivity in the sport.
