Menengai Oilers’ head coach Gibson Weru has made two changes to his starting lineup for the upcoming Kenya Cup match against KCB Rugby at KCB Sports Club this Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Elkeans Musonye has been moved to the bench, allowing Amos Obae, who returned from injury last weekend, to make his first start of 2025 at number eight.

Were misses Menengai Oilers match

Samuel Were has been omitted from the 23-man squad, giving former Kabras player Fortune Aturo an opportunity to start on the blindside flank. Nelson Makokha, who has been a regular this season, will start on the open side.

Wallace Onyango and Charles Osgood will once again feature in the second row, with Ibrahim Ayoo serving a suspension.

In the front row, former Kenya Under-20 hooker Celestine Mboi returns to the starting lineup, with Emmanuel Mulindo making way. The props are Destrious Ifedha and Vincent Mwikhali.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

The backline remains unchanged, with Sam Onsomu at scrum-half, Samuel Mwaura at fly-half, and the centre pairing of Samuel Ovwamu and Chrispin Shitundo, both of whom were on the scoresheet last weekend and have started together in every match this season.

Kenya internationals Beldad Ogeta and Timothy Omela will play on the wings, while Abutwalib Wesonga completes the backline at fullback.

On the bench, Paywick Munoko, Victor Were, Daniel Kipchirchir, and Steve Arunga have been named as substitutes.

The Oilers will be aiming to continue their strong performance against KCB in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

Both teams have not lost this season in the league phase.
