Kenya 7s concluded their Dubai 7s campaign in 10th place after a 15-7 defeat to Uruguay at the Sevens Stadium.
The tournament marked Shujaa’s return to the World Rugby Sevens Series under the revamped system introduced last season.
Kenya 7s wins
Shujaa managed two wins and three losses over the weekend, providing valuable insights into the new-look series format.
Uruguay started strongly, with Ignacio Facciolo scoring the opening try to give his side a 5-0 lead.
A minute later, Mateo Vinals added another try, though it went unconverted, extending the lead to 10-0 by halftime.
In the second half, Tomas Etcheverry further stretched Uruguay’s advantage with a well-executed corner try.

The play came after Shujaa’s defense was drawn in, allowing the ball to be shifted to the left wing for the score.
Kenya pulled one back through George Ooro, who capitalized on a quick tap penalty to power past his marker for a try under the posts.
Samuel Asati’s successful conversion brought the score to 15-7, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
Shujaa now turn their attention to the Cape Town 7s, scheduled for next weekend at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.
