Namibia advertises 7s Head Coach role

The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) has announced vacancies for Head Coach positions for their U20s and Men’s 7s teams.

These roles are crucial in shaping the future of Namibian rugby, and the NRU is seeking skilled and passionate coaches to lead these programs.

The Men’s 7s Head Coach, based in Windhoek, Namibia, will report to the NRU Director of Rugby and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for the 7s program, focusing on high-performance outcomes.

The role includes identifying, training, and managing a competitive squad for international 7s tournaments, overseeing training schedules, conditioning programs, and match preparations, collaborating with support staff to enhance player development, and representing Namibia in international competitions with professionalism.

Applicants for this role must have a World Rugby Level 2 Coaching Certification, proven experience in 7s rugby coaching at a high-performance level, excellent communication and leadership skills, a sound coaching background with a track record of success, and currently be active in 7s coaching.

The U20 Head Coach will lead the U20 national team program, ensuring alignment with the NRU’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities include identifying and nurturing young talent, implementing comprehensive training plans and match strategies, fostering an environment of discipline, teamwork, and excellence, and participating in local and international tournaments with the goal of achieving competitive success.

Applicants must hold a World Rugby Level 2 Coaching Certification, have experience coaching U20 or youth-level teams with a strong focus on player development, demonstrate success in structured rugby programs, and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

For both positions, candidates must have a valid Namibian work permit (for non-Namibian applicants), a strong commitment to rugby development and the growth of the sport in Namibia, and the ability to work collaboratively with players, staff, and stakeholders.
