Blak Blad extend their unbeaten run against Nakuru RFC to four matches in a row picking a 27-7 win at KU Grounds to start the Kenya Cup season on a high note.
Blad have not lost to Nakuru RFC since 2021 registering two wins and two draws. Bernard Rotich’s charges asserted their dominance early in the game, cruising to a 20-0 halftime lead against Nakuru.

Blad capitalized on a penalty opportunity, with fly-half Daniel Oyoo slotting in three points to take an early 3-0 lead in the 15th minute. Nakuru attempted to respond with a penalty but failed to convert their opportunity.
Three minutes later, Kenyan International Obat Kuke crossed over for the first try of the game, though Oyoo missed the conversion, leaving the score at 8-0. Nakuru’s struggles continued as they failed to get their kickoff past the 10-meter mark. Kelvin Gathu then made a spectacular line break off a chip, setting up Oyoo for a try to stretch the lead to 13-0 in the 21st minute.

Obat’s powerful line break off an 8th-man pick and Masese’s quick tap play paved the way for Khwesa to score in the 37th minute. Gathu added the conversion to make it 20-0.
In the final half, Nakuru RFC pulled back via Javan Otieno seven minutes into the second half and it would remain unchanged till the last minute of the game when Feeney Ahona came off the bench to score the final try for Blad.
Blad have now have picked maximum points on day one following four tries.
