Kenyan referee Duncan Kioko has earned World Rugby’s Level Three match official accreditation, as confirmed by the Kenya Rugby Union.
According to KRU, Kioko joins an elite group of senior referees, including Victor Oduor, who has officiated 108 matches, Constant Cap with 142 games, and the long-serving Godwin Karuga, who holds the record for officiating 264 Kenya Cup games.
Duncan Kioko’s journey
Having started his refereeing career in 2015, Kioko was recently part of the match official team for the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s tournament held earlier this month. In 2023, he was invited to attend the Level Three Course in Kenya, which brought together match officials from across the continent, including from Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda, and Tunisia.
This opportunity allowed Kioko to share insights, learn best practices, and further enhance his officiating skills at the highest levels.
