Pools for the Africa Women’s 7s 2024 have been released ahead of the competition which will take place at the University of Ghana on November 9-10.
Pool A has defending Champions South Africa seeded top having won the 2023 edition beating Kenya Lionesses. South Africa will face off with Tunisia, Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso.
Kenya Lionesses in Pool B
Pool B has Kenya Lionesses who will battle against Madagascar, hosts Ghana and Mauritius. In the final Pool Uganda Lady Cranes pooled alongside Zambia, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
The top two teams are set to qualify for the Challenger Series with South Africa having lost their core nation status as they lost 22-0 in a SVNS shootout with Spain. Spain took a 10-0 lead into the break and held South Africa to scoreless for the full game as they added two more scores in the second half.

The 2023 Africa Women’s Sevens was the 11th edition of the Africa Women’s Sevens, an annual African rugby sevens tournament. The qualifier event took place at the Lusaka Rugby Club, Zambia between July 1-2 2023.
The main event took place in Tunisia. The winner South Africa qualified for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and the second-placed team Lionesses and third-placed Uganda qualified for the 2024 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. Kenya and Uganda qualified for the 2024 Challenger Series.
