Spaniards Coasta Blanca Barbarians are the 2024 Safari 7s women’s category winners after defeating Kenya Lionesses 24-10 in a pulsating final held at the Kenyatta stadium, Machakos county.
Felceder Olivia drew first blood for Coasta Blanca Barbarians before adding another try speeding on the right with Stella Juana conversion sailing through for 12-00 lead.
Sinaida Mokaya then came in with a try for Lionesses where Ann Njeri’s conversion went wide making it 12-5 in favour of Barbarians at halftime.
In the second half Sinaida offloaded to supporting Freshia Oduor for the Lionesses second try but the conversion was unsuccessful bringing the scores to 12-10 in favour of Barbarians.
Oduor’s celebrations were cut short as Barbarians quickly responded with two successive tries with Felceder Olivia scoring the later for a 24-10 lead at full-time.
The win meant Coasta Blanca Barbarians from Spain walks home with the 2024 Safari 7s title after participating in the tournament for the first time.

The Kenya Lionesses were unable to reclaim the title again having lost the 2023 edition to Uganda in the final.
Defending champions Uganda lady cranes finished third after defeating Shogun Ladies 25-00 in the third place final while Kenya Cubs claimed the fourth position after registering a 07-05 win over Uganda II in the 5th Place Final.
