New Kenya Cup side South Coast Pirates have announced contract extension of Kelly Akengo who joined them last season.
The former Kabras RFC and Kenya Harlequin back joined the club last season from Kabete Stallions RFC and became the KRU championship top point scorer helping South Coast Pirates secure the elusive Kenya Cup promotion where it will be their first season in the top tier in the club’s history.

“Akengo was instrumental for the club during the past campaign that saw the team gain historical top-flight league promotion,” the club announced.
South Coast Pirates who won the KRU Championship title last season will be looking forward in maximizing Akengo’s experience who also featured for Ugandan side Jinja Hippos in the Uganda Premiership campaign to ensure they post postive results in the 2024/2025 Kenya cup campaign where they will compete among the elite in Kenyan rugby.
