South African legendary referee Lesego “Pro” Legoete is set to oversee the highly anticipated Legends Cup game between Uganda and Kenya this Saturday at the RFUEA grounds.
Legoete will be assisted by the equally renowned Kenyan duo, John Karimi and Nicholas Gachoya, on the touchlines.
Another legendary figure, Madam Peris Mukoko, will serve as the Television Match Official (TMO).

Legoete, who retired from active refereeing under the South African Rugby Union (SARU), remains an influential figure in the sport being recognized as one of the first black referees in South Africa.

He was also appointed as Golden Lions Rugby Referees Society (GLRRS) chairperson.
John Karimi, a long-serving match official, has officiated both local and international fixtures. In 2021, he was certified as a Match Official Educator by World Rugby and previously served as the Kenya Rugby Referees Association President.
Nicholas Gachoya is another esteemed Kenyan referee who has officiated local and international matches.
Peris Mukoko, a pioneer of women’s rugby in Kenya, was part of the first Kenya Lionesses team before transitioning to refereeing.
She served as an assistant referee during the 2017 Rugby Africa Gold Cup and, in 2019, was co-opted onto the Kenya Rugby Union board.
