After helping Nakuru RFC to a top-10 finish in the National 7s Circuit, Felix Okoth has shared his reflections on a season filled with both lessons and frustrations.
Nakuru RFC secured their spot in next season’s Division One, finishing with 51 points to round out the top 10. However, the Wanyore side’s ambitions were much higher.
Despite making a single semifinal appearance across six tournaments, their overall performance fell short of their expectations.
Felix Okoth reflection
In an interview with Scrummage Africa, Okoth expressed his disappointment.
“We performed way below what we set out to achieve. Our target was to reach the main cup semis in all fixtures and win at least two titles, but we only managed one semifinal,” he admitted.
Reflecting on his journey through the circuit, Okoth acknowledged the ups and downs he faced.
“The season started off tough for me, especially at Christie where I felt off my game, but I always believe things can only get better, I managed to regroup in the second leg at the Kakamega Ingo 7s,” he noted.

Despite the challenges, Okoth remains hopeful of his ultimate dream to don the Kenya National team jersey.
“My biggest ambition is to one day get a call-up and represent my country. That’s what drives me every time I step on the field,” Okoth revealed.
Okoth’s resilience was tested earlier in the season when he made his return for the Wanyore side during the Rugby Super Series, having recovered from a hairline tibia fracture sustained in the 2023 Prinsloo 7s quarterfinal against Kabras.
