Impala RFC have extended their lead at the top of the ladies’ standings, opening a six-point gap after their victory at the Kabeberi 7s ladies’ tournament held at the RFUEA Grounds.

Building on their impressive performance at the Christie 7s, where they clinched the championship, Impala continued their winning streak at Kabeberi.

In a thrilling final against the host team Mwamba, Impala emerged victorious with a 10-5 win. The match was tied 5-5 at the end of regular time, but Judith Auma scored the decisive try to secure the win for Impala, earning them 22 points for the tournament.

With this result, the Gazelles have accumulated 44 points across the two rounds so far.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Mwamba remain a strong contender for the title, holding the second position with 38 points after two final appearances this season.

Northern Suburbs are in third place with 34 points, while Ruckit sit in fourth with 27 points.

Kenya Harlequin have gathered 25 points, with Meru closely following at 23 points. Western Spears occupy the seventh position with 20 points, while NYS Spades and Nakuru RFC are in eighth and ninth places, respectively, with 18 and 15 points.

The competition will conclude with the Prinsloo 7s, where teams will battle for the final standings and overall titles.
