2024 FEASSSA 7s rugby games kicked off today in Mbale, Uganda with Kenyan teams registering mixed results.
In the boys’ category, Vihiga defeated their Kenyan counterparts Kisii 12-7, a repeat of this year’s KSSSA semi-final where the two sides met with Vihiga thrashing Kisii 27-00 to advance to the finals.

In the FEASSSA 7s rematch, Clide Kimaya bagged two and Felix Apwoka managed one conversion for the victory in the opening match.

Kenyan Champions Bwake Boys making their debut defeated Gitisi from Rwanda 31-00 handing them their second loss.
Calistus Wanjala and Amon Bwambok had two tries each with Godfrey Wekesa landing one try. Branol Chesoli nailed three conversions for a massive win.
St Mary’s Yala managed a 36-10 win over Dr Obote in the opening match. The Nyanza Region Champions’ massive win was after Nicholas Owino bagged a brace, Abel Oyaro, Joseph Onyango, Briana and Javics were all on the scoresheet with a try as Angelo Opingo drilled in three conversions.

Vihiga and Bwake from Kenya settled for a 7-7 draw. Melvin Mweresa had a try for Vihiga converted by Apwoka while Branol Chesoli scored and converted for Bwake.
In the last match of the day, Kisii picked a 34-0 win over Kiira from Uganda registering their first win.

Kiira from Uganda were handed a 19-12 defeat by Gitisi from Rwanda in the day’s second match. Uganda’s Jinja ss secured a 22-7 win over London College also from Uganda.
In the Girls category Jinja ss lost 12-5 to their Ugandan counterparts Nkoma, St Joseph’s girls overpowered their Kenyan counterparts Nyagichenche 32-0 while Kinale girls from Kenya also managed to pick a 29-7 win over Uganda’s Kijjabwemi.
