Dala 7s: KCB Rugby, Kabras RFC, Kenya Harlequin secure quarterfinal spots win match to spare

KCB Rugby, Kabras RFC, and Kenya Harlequin have all clinched their places in the Dala 7s quarterfinals with a match to spare after securing back-to-back victories at the Mamboleo Grounds.

Menengai Oilers, MMUST, and Nondies are also guaranteed spots in the last eight with a game remaining in the group stage.

Dala 7s Pool A

Menengai Oilers and Kenya Harlequin are tied on six points as they head into the pool decider on Saturday evening. Menengai Oilers kicked off their campaign with a decisive 31-0 victory over Mwamba and followed up with a 27-12 win against Strathmore Leos.

Kenya Harlequin edged out Strathmore Leos 17-12 and secured a 17-7 win over Mwamba. Consequently, Mwamba will miss the quarterfinals for the third consecutive year, while Strathmore Leos will miss out for the second time in a row.

Pool B

KCB Rugby lead Pool B on point differential despite being tied on six points with Nondies. The Bankers defeated Blak Blad 24-0 and Homeboyz 36-5.

Nondies matched them with six points after a 17-12 victory over Homeboyz and a 19-14 win against Blak Blad. This marks the third consecutive time that Blak Blad and Homeboyz will not progress to the quarterfinals. KCB and Nondies will face off in the pool decider, both aiming for their third consecutive quarterfinal appearance.

Pool C

In Pool C, Kakamega-based teams Kabras and MMUST have both advanced to the quarterfinals and will compete in the pool decider.

Kabras RFC defeated Stallions 19-0 and then beat hosts Kisumu RFC 19-5, reaching the quarters for the third time this season.

MMUST, also heading to their third quarterfinal appearance, started with a 21-15 win over Kisumu RFC and followed with a 29-14 victory over Stallions.

Pool D

Pool D remains open, with Catholic Monks in a strong position to qualify with six points. Zetech have four points, Nakuru have three, and Daystar also have three. The final pool matches will determine the remaining quarterfinalists.
