The first leg of the Africa Men’s 7s kicked off with a bang as South Africa, Uganda, and Madagascar maintained a 100% win record in the matches played at Labourdonnais Stadium in Port-Louis.
In Pool A, Madagascar achieved a perfect record, winning all their matches and proceeding to the quarters as pool winners. The Makis registered three straight wins, earning nine points. They scored 76 points while conceding 47.
Africa Men’s 7s holders
Kenya Morans finished second with seven points, following two wins and one loss in the group stages. The Morans scored 70 points and conceded only seven.
Hosts Mauritius finished with five points, while Nigeria managed only three points following three straight losses.

In Pool B, Uganda secured three straight wins to finish top of the log with nine points. They scored 94 points and conceded only 17.
Burkina Faso claimed the second spot after two wins and one defeat, while Ivory Coast settled for third.
South Africa topped Pool C, beating all their opponents to secure nine points. Zimbabwe Cheetahs came second in the pool with seven points, while Zambia and Algeria rounded out the group.
