Strathmore Leos defend Embu 7s title

Strathmore Leos have successfully defended their title in the Embu 7s tournament, emerging as the champions after a resounding 26-0 victory over Menengai Cream in the final held at Njukiri Grounds.

The clash between the two formidable teams was eagerly anticipated by rugby enthusiasts, and Strathmore Leos did not disappoint. Coached by Louis Kisia, the varsity side exhibited their prowess on the field, running in an impressive four tries while converting three, and effectively shutting out the Menengai Cream team.

This marks the second consecutive year that Strathmore Leos have emerged triumphant in the Embu 7s final, having previously defeated the Oilers 19-12 in the 2022 edition. The Leos’ exceptional performance and ability to retain the trophy showcased their consistency and dedication to the sport.

In the third-place playoffs, Catholic Monks took on Menengai Zuri in a closely contested match, with Menengai Zuri emerging as the winner with a final score of 19-12.

Northern Suburbs vs Strathmore Catullus

Northern Suburbs finished fifth beating Strathmore Catullus in an intense match. The Suburbs prevailed with an impressive score of 31-12.

KEMU and Kabarak Uni battled it out for the Challenge Trophy, with Kabarak Uni ultimately triumphing with a close score of 19-12.

Meru RFC competed against Kabete Stallions, with the latter emerging victorious with a scoreline of 22-10.

The Chuka Vikings were scheduled to face off against the Embu Dragons, but the match resulted in a walkover in favor of the Embu Dragons.
